3 Product status to other instruments in “family”
EUMETSAT’s GSICS Corrections for the IR channels of SEVIRI on Meteosat-9 and -10 were recently declared operational. Can we also consider the counterpart products for other instruments in the same series (“family”) as having the same status (i.e. operational)? Currently includes SEVIRI on Meteosat-8 and -11 as well as Metop-B/IASI. These are generated by the same processes, distributed through the same channels and have similar uncertainty characteristics

Reference instruments can have different calibration IASI-A/-B: small differences in LW due to non-linearity Propose a validation report to demonstrate impact - e.g. GSICS IR Reference Sensor Traceability & Uncertainty Report (see agenda item 19) Monitored instruments in same “family”: Absolute calibration may be different - exactly what GSICS Corrections aim to address Other aspects should be similar - e.g. Rate of degradation during lifetime Request we be allowed to extend the distribution mode to monitored instruments in the same “family” (where the processing is the same)
