1. The Zone System
The Zone System is a tool for both students and teachers. It helps the student express their feeling and allows the teacher to set expectations and individualize student work for the school day.

2. The Zones: Pink= mean, yelling, angry, terrified.
Green= calm, happy, focused, content.
Orange= frustrated, excited, silly, grouchy.
Blue= sad, sick, tired, bored.
Each “zone” represents different feelings we experience.
When students arrive in the morning they pick a card that represents the “zone” they are in.
The teacher picks a card and models their zone. The class then has a group discussion about each student’s zone. Our goal is focusing on the positive zones and what can be done to improve the negative zones.
