Unique THIS APPROACH IS THE MOST UNIQUE IN THAT IT FOCUSES SOLELY ON HOW WE ARE A PRODUCT OF LEARNING FROM OUR EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT, FAVOURING THE NURTURE SIDE OF THE NATURE/NURTURE DEBATE THE IDEA THAT WE ARE BORN AS A ’TABULA RASA’ IA LESS DETERMINISTIC AND SOCIALLY SENSITIVE IN COMPARISON TO THE OTHER APPROACHES AS IT SUGGESTS EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY DESPITE GENETICS (FOR EXAMPLE IQ) ALSO INCORPORATES `SLT TO DESCRIBE HOW BEHAVIOUR CAN BE LEARNT THROUGH OBSERVATION AND IMITATIONAND THIS THEORY IS STRONGLY ROOTED IN BANDURA ROSS AND ROSS’ STUDY=RELIABLE CONCEPTS OF CLAASICAL AND OPERANT CONDITIONING ARE A KEY FEATURE IN EXPLAINING LEARNING AND USEFULLY APPLICABLE TO DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING… THIS IS ALSO PARADIGMATIC- BIOLOGISTS, BHEAVIOURISTS AND MOST PSYCHOLOGISTS ALL AGREE ON THIS THEORY ADDING CREDIBILITY TO PSYCH AS A SCIENCE

strengths The behaviourist approach has always employed highly controlled methods of study and thus it can produce an objective and reliable result.  Social learning theory takes into account the cognitive factor in learning, which helps to get closer to the real life situations. The mediational processes demonstrate that we store information about the behaviour of others when we observe them and we also watch what happens when they do certain behaviour to make judgments about when to perform the actions.  Additionally, Social learning theory can explain the difference of behaviour between different cultures as if a behaviour is not displayed it cannot be imitated, for instance, the Amish teach their children that a gun is for hunting wild game and any other use is a sin. The children there were told to keep out the violent, therefore, the Amish are non-violent.

Criticism? BEHAVIOURISM RECIEVES CRITICISM FOR BEING REDUCTIONIST…
BIOLOGY IS MUCH MORE SO WHAT IF THERE IS NO ROLE MODEL FOR EXAMPLE WHEN THERE IS ONLY ONE PSYCHOPATH IN THE FAMILY?-WHERE DID THEY LEARN THAT STIMULUS-RESPONSE UNSCIENTIFIC

application  There are a multitude of people who are benefit from the application of the behaviourist approach. Secondly, children are benefit from the learning approach. The bobo doll experiment has showed that the children who had observed aggressive behaviour tended to act more aggressively when observed, which means that there is a negative effect from observing aggressive behaviour..  Finally, the behaviourist approach is helpful to the nannies..
