1 Matthew 6:1-16; 23:27 2 Corinthians 8:19-21
Honorable Appearance Matthew 6:1-16; 23:27 2 Corinthians 8:19-21 Should we be concerned if we appear to be doing wrong even if we aren’t? The Bible instructs God’s people to live lives that are honorable and that appear so. Neither an unrighteous life that appears honorable nor a righteous life that appears dishonorable are pleasing to God.

2 The Lord Expects His People to Appear Honorable
To abstain from every form of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22; Luke 3:22; 9:29) To provide good things in the sight of all men (Romans 12:17) To be blameless (1 Timothy 3:2, 7; Titus 1:6; Colossians 1:21-22)

3 Why Must we Maintain an Honorable Appearance?
To limit opportunities for others to engage in evil surmising (2 Thessalonians 3:8-10; 2 Corinthians 8:19-21; 1 Peter 2:12; 1 Timothy 5:13-14) So that our lights will shine brightly (Philippians 2:14-16; Matthew 5:16) So that we can avoid temptation (Romans 14:11-14; Matthew 6:13)
