1 So how can SOPAC help you with the IWRM National Planning Programme in your country?
To complement existing resources, processes and initiatives in a cost effective manner Adapted to the specific situation and needs of each country The SOPAC IWRM Team – James, Ulrika and Rhonda Coordinate and facilitate what you need at the national level Provide technical advice and assistance – IWRM, policy etc. This support will provided for the following: Technical advice (policy development, legislation, IWRM road-mapping etc. ) Regional exchange and linkages (meetings and networking) Communications (stakeholder analysis, strategies, approaches for engagement etc.)

2 So what can SOPAC do to help with the IWRM National Planning Programme?
Information management Collection of National information – policies, plans etc. Regional Resource Centre – IWRM Tools and reference material Staff support (to IWRM planning process and water committees) Training on specific IWRM issues or processes.

3 So what can SOPAC do to help with the IWRM National Planning Programme?
Other SOPAC Projects to help support your IWRM National Planning Processes Water Safety Planning (are a part to be considered in the overall IWRM Process) Water Demand Management /Water Use Efficiency (allows you to determine water allocation and improved use) HYCOS (information gathered is a key element to allow decision making – You Can’t Manage what you can’t measure) Water Quality Programme (data and information to inform decisions and management of freshwater resources) Sanitation (awareness raising and stakeholder involvement, sanitation plans and strategies) Economic support for studies to provide options for future management

4 Group Work – Resource Mapping
In your groups and using your draft roadmaps look at the various steps and identify what resources you require to implement the roadmap and develop an IWRM plan
