2. SOPES IEM Proof of Concept
The proof-of-concept was develop to demonstrate the viability of policy-based (rule-based, metadata-driven) specifications being requested by the OMG C4I Domain Taskforce in its RFPs. The shortage of knowledgeable resources to undertake the submissions and a desire to broaden the scope of the effort to address secure information exchange needs other domains (e.g., healthcare, e-government, financial, …) instigated the move of the SOPES IEF and PM specifications to the MARS taskforce, and start-up of the Information Exchange Framework (IEF) initiative.
