2 Turn off the power before leaving a machine.

3 Hearing protection and safety glasses
Know where your sparks are spraying Hold grinder firmly with both hands

4 Keep the shop clean of scraps and litter.

5 Trash Trash goes in the trash cans or waste cans. Not with the scrap metal!

6 Scrap metal Electrode ends (stubs)go in scrap metal bins or barrels. Welding coupons go in the scrap metal bins or barrels.

7 Oily rags and materials go out side in the dumpster only.

8 Disconnect power from machine tools before performing maintenance or adjustments.

9 A chip or break like this is very unsafe and could cause personal injury. Replaced the disc
Grinder discs Any time the reinforcing mesh is showing like this…Replace the disc Whenever you need a new disc, get one from Mr.E

10 STORAGE & INSPECTION Abrasive wheels must not be stored where they would be exposed to high temperature or humidity, water or other liquids or where they would be subjected to physical damage from falling tools or materials. Before new abrasive wheels are used they should be visually inspected and ring tested.

16 SAFE LIFTING Carrying the load…
Hold the load close so you can see over it. Keep the load balanced. Avoid twisting the body Watch out for pinch points -- doorways, etc. Face the way you will be moving.

17 Always read the labels on the cylinders to know what is inside.
**Cylinders must always be chained in the up-right position when in use or storage. ** If an Acteylene cylinder is placed on it’s side it must be put in the up-right position for at least minutes before it is used.                                                              Keep oil and grease away from oxygen and acetylene equipment to avoid explosions Always read the labels on the cylinders to know what is inside.

*Stand to side of regulator *Open valve slowly to full open snug ACTEYLENE TANK VALVE *Crack valve open, *when pressure stops increasing then *open ½ turn more.

Welding gloves are necessary Coveralls to protect you & your clothes

26 Only the operator should be around a machine or start it.

Be careful of the sharp edges on the cut material Keep hands away from the shear bar

28 Do Not use defective electrical equipment, extension cords, plugs ect.

29 Extension cord safety Report any problems
Electric Shock, a serious, sometimes fatal physical injury caused by an accidental flow of electricity through the body. Most cases of accidental electric shock involve a hand or arm in contact with a power source, an exposed wire or other part of a live electrical circuit. Extension cord safety Report any problems Check for frayed electrical cords (wires showing). Don’t use plugs that have the round prong removed Electricity and water is a dangerous combination Protect the electric cords from damage.

30 Keep floor clean and free from obstruction and slippery substances.

31 Clean up spilled liquids immediately!

32 The shop has enough brooms and brushes for “clean up” at the end of class. Every area is to be cleaned after each class.
