1 Title I provides financial assistance to local educational agencies and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low- income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Title I Federal funding is based on number of low-income students residing in district. Title I resources are distributed to schools where needs are the greatest, in amounts sufficient to make a difference in the improvement of instruction. Must provide funding and services to all schools where at least 75% of students qualify for free or reduced price meals.
