THE MUSIC TRANSLATION IN ANIMATION (music converted to MIDI file) click here to access animation video

TRANSLATION IN MOVEMENT (Classical Ballet) Click here to access video

TRANSLATION IN MOTIF NOTATION (1 ST bar of movement only) Note: The entire song of Motif Notation would have resulted in over 10 pages of Score. Decision was made to provide 1 bar of Score for final project.

The Side-by-Side Comparison of Translations

The Paradigm of Translation The art of translation is largely open to interpretation and the domain to which the music will be analyzed by, and then translated. Translating music into dance, is often based on a choreographers particular movement style and method of interpreting music. I urge you to compare the three translations and provide feedback. I hope you enjoyed my three interpretations of The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker.
