For it to function successfully, the platform needs to be highly available and reliable and geo-distributed on at least three continents. In a period of rapid growth, Last.Backend also needed a cloud infrastructure solution that could deliver dynamic scaling and low-cost management. SOLUTION Microsoft Azure Web Apps helped Last.Backend to plan and build a fault- tolerant solution with analytics and instant health-check notifications. Using Azure Application Insights, the Last.Backend dev team gets the ultimate ability to know what is happening with the platform. Last.Backend uses Azure Service Bus queues and Traffic Manager to distribute globally and Azure Storage and Web and Worker Roles to scale as needed.
