S.O.A.R. Awards Westport Middle School PBIS

2 Do you want to be recognized for doing the right thing?
Our students at Westport are AMAZING and our staff would like to recognize and reward that! We will be looking for students choosing to do the right thing.

3 What does it mean to “do the right thing”?
Doing the right thing means following SOAR expectations. Stay on task. Offer your best. Act responsibly. Respect does the rest!

4 STAY ON TASK Participate in class. Refrain from disrupting learning. Follow directions. Go directly to your class during transitions.

5 OFFER YOUR BEST Always give your best effort. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Go out of your way to help other people.

6 ACT RESPONSIBLY Take care of your belongings. Use self-control in the hallways and in the classrooms. Make sure your behavior and your grades are top priorities.

7 RESPECT DOES THE REST! Show respect towards others– adults and peers. Holding yourself to high standards. Take care of your property. Keep the school clean and do not vandalize property.

8 How does it work? When an adult in the building sees a student meeting SOAR expectations, he or she will fill out a ticket and give it to you. You will turn the ticket into the SOAR Recognition Boxes in your hallway. The ticket goes into a drawing. There will be a drawing every month for winners from each team. One winner per team will receive a prize.

9 What does the ticket look like?

10 What are some of the prizes?
SOAR T-Shirts Free admittance to morning gym time Tickets to the Snack Shack Tickets to sports/extracurricular activities Admission to Luxury Lunchroom

11 Do you have any questions?
