2 Steps to Solve Stoichiometry Problems
Balance the chemical equation! Determine what you are given and what you are trying to find. Locate the boxes on your flow chart. Start with your given on top. Draw your train tracks. Convert to moles A! Use the mole ratio to convert to moles of a different substance. (Remember, the mole ratio comes straight out of the balanced equation!) Convert to what you are trying to find. Do the math! Don’t forget to include units and round to two decimal places.

3 Example: KClO  KCl O2 How many moles of KCl can be produced by letting grams of KClO3 react? How many grams of KClO3 do you need to get 5.2 X 1032 atoms of O2?
