Japan Program Founded: Budget: $2.5 billion Japan has yet to build a spacecraft fit for humans. But it did send the first journalist into space. The Japanese are planning a lunar landing in 2020 and hoping to build a base on the moon by 2030
European Space Agency Program Founded: Budget: $5 billion The ESA are launching the James Webb Space Telescope (with NASA and Canada) in Then the ESA Rosetta spacecraft will be involved with the first long-term analysis of a comet.

3. Takakoto
An exoplanet, is a planet outside our Solar System. In the last few years more than 450 exoplanets have been discovered. They orbit stars other than our sun. Being able to find these planets means that there is much more chance of finding a planet like our earth

4. Nyanga
Scotland has companies involved in the space industry, producing everything from batteries to nano-satellites. This means good jobs for people in space science jobs. Some examples:
At the UK Astronomy Technology Centre in Edinburgh they developed a special kind of wiring that works at the cryogenic (very low) temperatures found inside an astronomy camera. This kind of camera is used to look into the furthest regions of space
Kinotex: this is a sensor technology which, like human skin, registers pressure and differences in pressure and gives feedback. This was developed by for the robotic arm on the International Space Station but is now being used by car companies for crash sensing to improve pedestrian safety
