2 Population Patterns U.S population is diverse due to immigration
We currently have over 300 million people in this country People came to the U.S for many reasons: leaving war, political freedom, religious freedom, fleeing disasters…etc.

3 Population Patterns The north east and eastern portion of the U.S has the highest population density. Central U.S has the least amount of people

4 U.S Expansion The original 13 colonies were on the east coast. Over the next 100 years, the land spread to the west coast

5 U.S Expansion As U.S territory grew, so did its resources.
People wanted resources, land, and wealth so many people moved west to make their fortunes.

6 U.S Culture: Language English is the main language spoken followed by Spanish being the second most spoken

7 U.S Culture: Religion Currently, Christianity is the most prominent religion in America Other religions that are growing are: Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism

8 U.S Culture: Education Education in America is built on public school, private school, and home schooling. Students are required by law to attend school until the age of 16 in most states.

9 U.S Culture: The Arts In early U.S history, European art was the primary source of art. As the diversity of the U.S grew, many other cultures integrated their culture with European

10 U.S Culture: Family life
The U.S is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, so many families enjoy a high standard of living. Food is relatively cheap, many housing choices, stores with plenty of merchandise

11 U.S Culture: Family Life
Married couples make up around 50% of families in the U.S The size of the American family has gotten smaller over the years. Most families are having 1-2 children
