10. What is School-to-Work?
STW is a transitional service providing on- the-job training and skill development to facilitate students facing barriers to employment to be successful in the world of work.

11. What is Work Adjustment Training?
WAT is a transitional service providing on- the-job training and skill development to facilitate adults, no longer in school, who are facing barriers to employment to be successful in the world of work.

12. Values of School to Work/Workforce Adjustment Training
Provide real life experience.
Technical skills development ("hard" skills).
Soft-skills development (greetings, asking for help, following directions).
Development of fully integrated relationship skills with co-workers and managers.
Students develop critical and often under-developed interpersonal skills.
Creates a strong relationships with the public schools, parents and DARS to establish a collaborative team plan.
Best opportunity to help students successfully transition to a career pathway.
Provides a real understanding of the difference in expectations between the school environment and the work environment.

School-To-Work Eligibility
Students Age 16 – 21
Those with a Documented Disability (ID, ED, MR)
Services delivered as part of IEP and/or Workforce Transition Plan
Work Adjustment Training Eligibility
Senior year and beyond
Services delivered through DARS and CSB's

15. How does it all work? (Logistics)
90 day program
3 hours/day X 4 days/week
Transportation provided by the schools

16. How can we work with YOU? Schools:
Work collaboratively with the case managers (IEP Case managers, School Social Workers, Guidance Counselors, Transition Specialists).
Be active participation in planning meetings with parents and students.   
Businesses:
GW partnering with businesses to have students working in their operations to provide supported employment.
Businesses sponsoring students participation by funding placements.

17. Goodwill’s Role
Facilitate collaborative workforce solutions between schools, DARS, CSB's and the business community to create a workforce pipeline for individuals with barriers to employment.
Create customized solutions to enable local schools to have access to these services within their local community.
Help design a plan forward for students to continue to advance along their individual career pathway.

18. Costs and Funding Sources:
Daily fee: $75.00/day to include:
Support and supervision
Wages for participants
Custom contract pricing can be negotiated for group programs.
Services Eligible for funding through IEP’s/CSA, Local School Divisions, DARS and CSB’s.
