Weekly Specials 1:50 – 2:37 Monday – PE (Clothes, sneakers, deodorant). 10:00 – 10:47 Tuesday – Art Wednesday – Music Thursday – PE (Clothes, sneakers, deodorant) Friday – Library (Keep books in backpack, not at home) Lunch – 11:40 – 12:10 Magnetic Chart with schedule

Homework Read 5 nights/week for 30 minutes (M-TH, Once on Weekend) Please initial calendar and record number of minutes on book log Approximately 15 minutes Online Resources Inform me if there is difficulty, adjustments can be made Must be completed regularly, accurately and neatly

Agenda Your child has been provided with an agenda that will be used on a daily basis for the following: Recording Homework Assignments Parent/Teacher Communication Notes will be brief Please initial your child’s agenda each night to ensure that it is being used effectively. I will do the same.

Lexia Core 5 Web-based reading program that provides practice and instruction to develop individual reading skills Available to use at home Receive reports Expected to complete the Grade Level 3 Skills by the end of the school year

Accelerated Reader Goal for the year is for every child to reach a minimum of 100 points Responsible to take a test on every book they read Chapter books are worth one point, picture books are worth ½ point As book levels become more difficult, and books become lengthier, AR points increase

Reading Assessment Currently assessing individual reading levels, you will receiving a letter with your child’s reading level and targets It is important that children are reading books on their independent reading level

Birthdays You’re welcome to send (or drop off) a snack to school on or around your child’s birthday. 22 Children Snacks need to be nut-free, store bought, due to allergies Any day is fine, just let me know when the snack is coming! If planning an out of school party, please do not bring invitations to school.

Parties Our class will be celebrating different holidays, as well as other festivities, throughout the year. Sign-up sheets are available if you can donate.
