The revision of the EMAS Regulation included extending participation to all sectors of economic activity.
EN ISO has also been adopted as the environmental management system required by EMAS, so that progressing from EN EN ISO to EMAS will be smoother and not entail duplication.
Different options have been introduced for the communication of environmental information to stakeholders and to facilitate this the EMAS logo has been introduced.
Changes to the EMAS Regulation include the active involvement of employees in the implementation of EMAS.
Member States have a new role to play to inform, promote and develop incentives (e.g. regulatory benefits, tax incentives,…)
The role of the environmental statement has been strengthened to improve the transparency of communication of environmental performance between registered organisations and their stakeholders and the public. 17
