0498: Mod Title: Amendment to Gas Quality NTS Entry Specification at BP Teesside System Entry Point Proposer: BP Gas Marketing Ltd Panel Date: 17 April 2014

2 Why change? The carbon dioxide limit specified in the Network Entry Agreement between National Grid and BP Teesside terminal is incompatible with new potential offshore developments Initial analysis shows that an increase in the carbon dioxide limit at this ASEP would allow additional deliveries of gas without compromising safe or efficient operation of the NTS UNC modification process is the preferred route, to facilitate the proposed change and also ensures an open, inclusive and transparent process.

3 Options Offshore or onshore gas processing plant is being considered to reduce the carbon dioxide content, but represents a high cost option and would reduce economic delivery for at least some production.

4 Solution Change the carbon dioxide limit from 2.9% to 4.0% in the Network Entry Agreement between National Grid and BP Teesside

5 Recommended Steps The Proposer recommends that this modification should be: Sent to Workgroup assessment to Develop the modification Discuss the results of National Grid work conducted to pre-assess the impact of a higher carbon dioxide limit on the network and consumers Consider with stakeholders other impacts not evaluated so far
