Russia’s Communist Revolution 1917
2
Before World War I, Russia was ruled by a rich autocrat named Czar Nicholas II.

Then came World War I.
6
Russia lost somewhere between five and eight million soldiers
Russia lost somewhere between five and eight million soldiers! Nobody really knows!
7
Things were also bad because of the stupidity of the Czar’s government

9
The people were angry! They blamed the rich, and started listening to…

11
Communists, like Robin Hood, said they wanted to “steal from the rich to feed the poor.”

16
Then, Lenin’s communist government took control of the economy!
They took farmland from the rich and gave it to the poor… …took control of the banks and industry …and established an eight hour workday.
17
What if the poor in our countries try the same thing?!!!!!
The idea that a government could take control of the economy freaked out the rich in capitalist America, Britain and France. What if the poor in our countries try the same thing?!!!!!
18
Not everyone in Russia supported Lenin’s takeover, and a civil war started.
19
From 1918-1920, Lenin’s “Red” Bolsheviks fought off the “Whites.”
The war killed Russia’s economy and 15 million people!
20
After the Reds won, rather than share money and power as promised, Lenin’s Bolsheviks kept all the money and power for themselves.
21
When Lenin died, an evil man killed his rivals and took control of the gang and the country.
His name was Joseph…
