1 Dose-Response Relationship Between Severe Hypercholesterolemia and Body Mass Index in Healthy Young Adults  Tomohide Yamada, MD, PhD, Shintaro Yanagimoto, MD, PhD, Takashi Kadowaki, MD, PhD  Mayo Clinic Proceedings  Volume 92, Issue 7, Pages (July 2017) DOI: /j.mayocp Copyright © 2017 Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research Terms and Conditions

2 Figure Dose-response relationship between body mass index and various cutoff values of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level in healthy young adults. Multiple logistic regression analysis was employed to determine the odds ratio (OR) and 95% CI for associations between elevation of LDL-C level and body mass index, adjusted for systolic blood pressure and age. We used Stata statistical software, version 14.0 (StataCorp) to evaluate potential nonlinear relationships, applying cubic splines with 4 knots in set percentiles (5%, 35%, 65%, and 95%).
