1 Chromebook 101

2 Logging in to a Chromebook
When you open a Chromebook, you will find a screen like the one pictured here. It may have several login boxes like the one in the center for different users.

3 Signing In Click on + Add Person
A new screen will open, asking for your address and password. Type in your Irving ISD address, which is Leave the password blank and click on Sign in.

4 Signing On You will be directed to the Irving ISD Single Sign-On page.
Type your regular Irving ISD username and password and click on Sign In.

5 Confirmation To complete your sign-in, re-enter your Irving ISD password and click on Confirm. After your first login to a device, you will not have to complete all of these steps in order to login.

6 Putting up your Chromebook
Make sure to log off before you put the Chromebook away. Plug in the Chromebook carefully to make sure it gets charged.

8 Three Finger Scroll You can quickly move from one tab to the next in Chrome with a three finger scroll. Ctrl-Tab or Ctrl-Shift-Tab will do the same thing if you prefer keyboard shortcuts.

9 Show Keyboard Shortcut Overlay
The ultimate keyboard shortcut shows you all others!

10 Toggle Caps Lock On and Off
Use this shortcut to turn on Caps Lock when it’s time to yell on the internet. Ready to stop yelling? Use it again to turn off Caps Lock.

11 Take a Screenshot Take a picture of your entire screen.
Take a picture of a select portion of your screen.

12 Open a New Tab New tab in a flash!
Super secret tip...if you accidentally close a tab and want it back, Ctrl-Shift-T will bring it back.

13 Others Ctrl + C - Copy Alt + Up Arrow - Page Up Ctrl + V - Paste
Ctrl + S - Save Ctrl + Zoom In Ctrl - Zoom Out Ctrl 0 Reset Zoom Alt + Up Arrow - Page Up Alt + Down Arrow - Page Down Ctrl + Z - Undo Ctrl + Y - Redo Ctrl + F - Find

14 Logout When you are in a hurry, and ready to go, don’t do a lot of clicking. Just use this shortcut to logout immediately. Q is for Quit!
