2. Introduction
Dr. Seuss was an important author. He had an interesting childhood. He learned to be writer. He has written many children’s books.

3. Childhood
Dr. Seuss was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. His father taught him how to work hard and his mother helped him make up new ideas. Dr. Seuss loved to dream up pictures and he had two sisters. One died when she was little the second one was the oldest one and they were best friends growing up all their lives. His family was German they had fun with other German families.

4. His First Job
Ted and his wife Helen lived in New York. Ted worked for a magazine he drew and wrote cartoons. He also started signing his name as Dr. Seuss. One of his cartoons was about Flit Bug Spray. The cartoon company liked it sooooo Dr. Seuss got a job making cartoons.

5. His Books
In 1956 Dr. Seuss took on a challenge. Some people thought reading books was boring but Dr. Seuss made that all change. He made reading fun and easy for children. Cat in the Hat made kids laugh so that’s why Cat in the Hat is so famous.

6. Making Movies
Dr. Seuss made his books into good fun and lovely television shows. His first show was How the Grinch Stole Christmas. At first he was worried if the songs were any good or not and who would do the voice of the Grinch. But he forgot about it because in 1966 the Grinch was shown for the first time and it was a HIT!

7. His Family
In 2004 the Dr. Seuss National Sculpture Garden guess who was standing right by the sculpture? It was Ted a.k.a Dr. Seuss's stepdaughter Lark Grey Diamond-Cats. She designed the whole Garden and made it.

8. Conclusion
Dr. Seuss was a great writer. His books make children laugh. We should all be thankful for all of his books.
