2 Forest area in Poland The voivodeship with the biggest percentage of forest area is Lubuskie and the voivodeship with the least percentage of forests is Łódzkie. The forest area in Poland takes 29,4% of the country’s territory

3 Trees in Poland In our country there are a lot of types of trees, the most common trees are: pine, oak, spruce and beech

4 Beech Beech is one of the most common tree in Poland. Beech is a leafy tree and if we find a young tree we can eat leaves because they are edible when the tree isn’t old.

6 Oak Oak is a leafy tree. Oak occurs in almost the whole Poland, it is only in some places in the north of Poland that there are no oaks. Oak wood is very tough and it is commonly used in carpentry.

8 Pine Pine is the most common tree in Poland, only in Bieszczady there aren’t any pines. Pine is a confier and pine wood is used in carpentry and it is combustible so it is good for a fireplace.

10 Spruce Spruce is confier and it occurs mostly in the mountains and in the highlands. Spruce is a weak tree and it needs good soil to grow. It is very easily broken by wind because of shallow roots.

12 Bory Tucholskie Bory Tucholskie are one of the biggest wood complexes in Poland. The area of Bory Tucholskie is about 3 thousand square kilometres and it is one of the biggest National Parks in Poland. It consists mostly of pines.

13 „Park Mużakowski’’ „Park Mużakowski” is located on the western boundary of Poland and on the eastern boundary of Germany. It is the biggest English style park in Poland.

14 Bialowieza Forest Bialowieza Forest is the oldest National Park in Poland. On the forest territory is the Bison reserve. This forest is one of the last fragments of the original forest in Europe.
