Using your traffic light and sticky notes, create a checklist of elements for your writing. As you review each one, identify it in your writing. Mark it (highlight it) and then write out to the side, what skill or content is it addressing. Ask these questions: What works? What should I add? (dialogue, imagery, emotions, - elements of voice) What should I delete? (repetition – that is not done on purpose, areas off topic, areas where you ramble, etc.) What should I rearrange? (Is the ending better as a beginning? Is the beginning better as a ending? Is the order of events/issues/challenges most powerful? How can I bring the reader into my story the best?)
