What are Tides? Rise and fall of sea level

What causes tides? Caused by the gravitational pull of the Sun and Moon as well as the rotation of the Earth.  Tides cycle as the Moon rotates around the Earth and as the position of the Sun changes. Throughout the day the sea level is constantly rising or falling.

What causes tides? the moon's gravitational force pulls on water in the oceans  "bulges" in the ocean (both sides of planet) moon is directly overhead and opposite side  experience a high tide. Moon, Sun, Earth create right angle  Low tide

Tides Every 24 hours and 50 minutes, the Earth experiences two high tides and two low tides. High tides occur every 12 hours and 25 minutes. From high tide to low tide is a span of six hours and minutes.

Types of Tides NEAP TIDE: just after the first or third quarter of the moon when there is the least difference between high and low water.

Types of Tides: Spring Tides
just after a new or full moon, when there is the greatest difference between high and low water.
