2. AMSEC auction
Invitation to tender for next AMSEC auction issued on 18 January 2006
Users invited to make applications for monthly capacity for period April 2006 to March 2008
4 tranches will be held on:
14, 17, 22, 27 February 2006
Each tranche will make available 25% of available capacity with 4th tranche including any unsold from previous tranches
Significant quantities of capacity available at many ASEPs……

5. Optimisation of Capacity
Demand for capacity may exceed available levels
no opportunity to obtain incremental capacity through AMSEC
We are not intending to release beyond current baselines unless supply/demand conditions allow ahead of/on gas day
limited investment opportunities that could now be undertaken to allow release of additional capacity for Apr 06-Mar 08
Ofgem’s 2nd consultation on TPCR considers methods to optimise available capacity between entry points e.g. zonal baselines, substitution incentives
May be benefits in seeking earlier implementation of optimisation methods in UNC at future workstreams
