2. Open Educational Resources (OER)
Free and openly licensed, online educational materials that can be used for teaching, learning, research, and other purposes.
OERs include textbooks, streaming videos, full courses, online modules, podcasts and other types of audio.

In its simplest form, the concept of Open Educational Resources (OER) describes any educational resources (including curriculum maps, course materials, textbooks, streaming videos, multimedia applications, podcasts, and any other materials that have been designed for use in teaching and learning) that are openly available for use by educators

5. OER grants for USC faculty
Increase faculty adoption of OER by integrating at least 1 OER into course
Lower cost of class materials for students
Partnered with the Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET) to provide course design and syllabi modification support
Participants attended a workshop, worked with librarians to find appropriate OER and met with CET instructional designers
Worked with faculty Spring and Summer for Fall courses

Cohort 1, Grant started July 2016, Implemented OER Spring 2017
4 faculty members selected: Business, International Relations, Music, Social Work
Cohort 2 (current), Grant started July 2017, Implement Fall 2018

Add links to electronic resources to Blackboard
We can help you replace your paid resources with library resources

We can help you:
Identify appropriate OER and/or library resources for your courses
Visit your classroom to discuss resources, accessibility, etc.
Work 1:1 to incorporate links to electronic resources into Blackboard or your syllabus
