2 Zeus King of the Olympians and God of the Heavens (Sky)
Symbol is a lightening bolt. and the eagle Zeus had many children, both mortal and immortal, one of the most famous is Hercules

3 Hera Queen of the Olympians and Goddess of Marriage, Women and Motherhood Symbols the peacock Zeus’ sister and 1st wife

4 Poseidon God of the Water or the Seas
Symbol is the trident (three pronged spear) Controlled the oceans.

5 Demeter Goddess of Fertility and agriculture.
Symbols include corn, wheat, and the torch. Controls the seasons

6 Hestia Goddess of the Hearth and Home
She basically protected the home and family Her symbol is Fire

7 Aphrodite Goddess of Love and Beauty
Married to the God Hephaestus (but she was not really interested in him Symbols include the dove, sparrow, and swan.

8 Apollo God of Music, Art, and the Sun
One of the most beloved Gods in Ancient Greece Had a temple in Delphi, where an Oracle communicated to mortals for him. Symbols include the lyre (a musical instrument) and chariot

9 Ares God of War He loved violence, blood, battles and war
It is said his thrown was covered in the skins of men. Symbols include the vulture and the dog 9

10 aRTEMIS Goddess of the Hunt and the Moon
Kills Adonis (Aphrodite’s lover) because he said he was a better hunter than she was Symbols include the bow and arrow.

11 Athens Goddess of Wisdom and War Strategy
Sprang in full armor from Zeus’ head (that is how she was born) Symbols include the spear and shield. Parthenon in Athens built in her honor

12 Hephaestus God of the Forge (Metal Working)
Symbols include a hammer and anvil, and the axe Was the husband of Aphrodite

13 Hermees God Of Commerce, Thieves and Speed
He was the Messenger for the Gods Symbols includes winged shoes and winged helmet.

14 Other important lesser deities
Hades God of the Underworld Symbols include the Helmet, Metals, and Jewels Dionysus God of Wine and Merry Making Symbols include grapes and wine cups.
