Apparatus use:
Ruler is dropped from just above one person’s hand, that person should try and catch the ruler as quickly as possible
The number of ‘cm’ on the ruler is recorded and used to work out reaction time
Method of varying caffeine intake – person should repeat the ruler drop test (between 3 and 10 times) without drinking caffeine, then drink a caffeinated drink (e.g. may be given)
Method of controlling other variables
Same person should drop the ruler and the same persons reaction time should be measured before and after caffeine
Same type of caffeinated drink should be used by all volunteers
Leave enough time for the caffeine to work before doing second round of tests

FSH stimulates the ovaries to release oestrogen

Progesterone inhibits the release of FSH and LH
