3 General Information Children may arrive at school from 8.40.
The whistle is blown at 8.50 for children to come into school. The register is taken at 9am and the main black gates are closed. If you arrive after the gate is closed please take your child to the office to be registered. School ends at 3.15pm for the children in KS1, the main black gate is open from 3pm. If you are late your child may be put in After School Club and you may be charged. All uniform and PE kit should be clearly named. PE kit should be in school at all times as PE days may vary. Jewellery should not be worn. Newsletters on Friday give information about the following week. These are on the website – paper copies can be requested from the office. Every child has a communication diary – this is used in school and at home.

9 Homework Big Talk for Big Write homework is sent home as a paper copy every Friday. You will also find it on the website, both on the weekly newsletter and on our class page. The topic is to be discussed ready for the following Friday. Children will struggle with their Big Write if they do not do their Big Talk homework. Reading – children should read for at least ten minutes every day. Please write a comment in the Communication Book each time your child has read and let us know when the book needs to be changed. We will send your child’s homework folder with a Literacy and Numeracy task each week. Homework should be completed and returned, in the folder, by the following Tuesday. Spelling – spellings related to your child’s phonics phase are sent home every Friday. We would encourage you to help your child with their work – they may need some help reading the tasks. Please let us know if there are any problems.
