1 Other Features – Filter Options
Other FIDO features Filter by Land (condition) or Tree attributes. New filters are regularly added. Users should contact their regional technical assistants to let them know what filters they would like to see in future FIDO versions.

2 Filter by Species? Filter by specific species – are found the Grouping of species into 4 major classes. Click on the arrow to see the list of specific species

4 To create a circular retrieval, click on Circular boundary and the teardrop center point will appear in the middle of your screen. Click on the teardrop to place it where you want the center to be, enter a radius, and click on draw.

5 The areas within the circle that are highlighted will be part of the report.

6 The center point can be moved around (The values in the center lat/long will automatically adjust to where the teardrop center point is placed), the circle radius can be changed. Any areas not selected within the circle will not be part of the estimate. In this case the circular retrieval will include most of Wisconsin and a small section of Upper Peninsula of Michigan (no MN or IA data will be included)

7 Map output is available for all reports.
Choosing Map display will bring up the Mapping configuration options. Options include: Specific regions or survey years Specific rows or columns Manipulation of quantile breaking points.

8 Zoom in or out, change the display option (Map, Satellite, Hybrid, Terrain).

9 Click on an individual county to view the specific information

10 Save Active Retrieval – Step 1
Saving a report for a later FIDO session is a 2-step process. Step 1 is to save the report to the current active FIDO session. Click on the Save Active Retrieval button (note that there is no Continue >> button here – the user must actively select to Save)

The template information is displayed. You can update any information in the report name, title, description, etc. Choose stopping point(s) for the FIDO wizard. Choose which template category you’d like to save the template in. The selected template can be overwritten, or…

12 It can be saved as a new template in any of the template categories
It can be saved as a new template in any of the template categories. This example saves as a new template in the User-defined category. To save confusion it is not recommended to overwrite existing default templates.

13 When all set with changes, click on the Save Template button.

14 The report name appears in the Save retrieval drop down list.

15 Go back to the Start New Retrieval menu and ensure the template is now available under User-defined reports. You have saved a template in the current session of FIDO. The second step is to save the configuration file on your PC.

16 Save Custom File – Step 2 Click on the Save Custom FIDO II button to save the file.

17 The File Download box prompts the user to save
The File Download box prompts the user to save. The default filename is fido.xacfg. Click on Save.

18 Rename the file as you wish. The default file type is text or “txt
Rename the file as you wish. The default file type is text or “txt.” It doesn’t seem to matter what type you save it in. The save file will load either way.

19 Load Custom File To load the file for another FIDO session, click on the Browse button. . .

20 Locate your file, click on Open

21 Click on Add Custom FIDO II file

22 The user configuration has all the templates in the original configuration, plus this new one.
