After class, they stop by his locker and shove him around or throw his books and papers on the floor. Lately, Nicholas wakes up in the morning dreading going to school. He wants to report them to the principal, but he’s afraid that will cause the boys to react even more violently. What should Nicholas do?

15 Step 1: State the situation (what decision is Nicholas trying to make?) Step 2: List the options (what are his choices? List two) Step 3: Weight the possible outcomes (what might happen if Nicholas acted on each option you listed for Step 2?) Step 4: Consider Values (If you were Nicholas in this situation, what values would guide your decision? Describe how your values related to each option.) Step 5: Make a Decision and Act on it (what decision would you make if you were in Nick’s position?) Step 6: Evaluate the Decision (How do you know if you made a good choice or not?)
