Optimal detector around the black lines Single sector: Radiator size  1.5 m2 Detector size ~ 14 m2 6 sectors: Radiator size  10 m2 Detector size ~ 40 m2 4s at 5 GeV  1:1000 at 80% efficiency or 1:100 at 95% efficiency Note: sJ is not constant vs p (to be understood) Optimal detector size does not seem to change significantly respect to 5-30 degree coverage 06 Nov 2008 Clas12-RICH

6 Considerations Realistic phase space seems to be slightly asymmetric inside a single sector Optimal Radiator and detectors shape are not simple arcs Overall performances slightly improves of ~0.5s at 5 GeV/c respect to previous simulations. 5-20 degree coverage reduce (1/2) the radiator size, but does not seem to be significant for the detector (other configuration must be analyzed). 06 Nov 2008 Clas12-RICH
