Addition Property of Inequality – You can add the same number to both sides of an inequality and the statement will still be true.
Arithmetic Algebra

Subtraction Property of Inequality – You can subtract the same number from both sides of an inequality and the statement will still be true.
9 < if a < b
so 9 – 5 < 12 – then a – c < b – c
