Meta-analysis of studies assessing antibiotic prophylaxis before dental procedures for the prevention of endocarditis
We meta-analysed studies with the Mantel-Haenszel method assuming a random-effects model. Events are of endocarditis outcomes. Test for heterogeneity demonstrated very high inconsistency between the three studies (I2=79%; p=0·009) and the summary effect was not significant (Z=1·11; p=0·27).
