4 QC Modules Overview QC is broken into different areas - termed modules. Each module can include some functionality of other modules causing an overlap between the modules. Dashboard: In the Dashboard modules, you analyze QC data by creating graphs, standard reports, and Excel reports. You can also create dashboard pages that display multiple graphs side-by-side Management: Create releases and cycles for a project which assists in determining when requirements will be available for testing Requirements: Requirements are organized in a directory tree structure hierarchy of functional and user requirements. Requirements determine what the system must be able to do for the users. The requirements module includes an interface into the management, test plan and defects modules. Test Plan: Where test cases and scripts are created, changed, stored and organized in a directory tree structure hierarchy. Test cases are created to ensure one or more requirements has been implemented correctly. The test plan module includes an interface into the requirements module that allows one or more requirements to be associated with a test case. Test Lab: Where test sets are created and tests are executed. The test lab module includes an interface into the management, test plan and defects modules. Defects: Where issues are recorded and tracked to resolution. This area is used to create, edit, update and resolve defects.

5 Roles and Tasks Roles can be assigned to different groups by the QC administrator when the project is set up. Roles are not meant to match job titles. They are for access to QC. Each group is assigned to different authority/access level in QC. The same persons can be assigned to multiple roles as required to allow the correct access. Roles utilized by Medtronic are: BA – Work in Dashboard, Management, Requirements and Defects modules Tester – Work in Dashboard, Testing and Defects modules Test Lead – Work in all modules Development Lead – Work in Dashboard and Defects module Read Only – Work in Dashboard module

6 Requirements Workflow
Requirement lifecycle is managed through the use of the Requirements Status field. Requirements in the Retired state will become read only and cannot be modified.

The initial status of a new test script defaults to Design. Reviewed Field (test lead only): This field can only be modified when the status is Ready. Changing the state to Reviewed will lock the script from being edited.

8 Test Lab Workflow The initial status of a result is Not Reviewed.
A result in the Reviewed state is locked and cannot be edited.

9 Defects Module When a defect is initially logged, the default state is New. When status is set to Assigned, an is sent to the person in the assigned to field. A defect in the Closed state will be locked and cannot be edited.
