Leading with a focus on the people. Always working for the people. Being a mentor, knowing your followers. Followers feel a connection to leader. Leadership through people. Examples? “The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be what we pretend to be.” -Socrates Leading with a focus on ideals rather than people. Always working for a vision, and personal beliefs. Not personally knowing your “followers”. Followers feel a connection to the common beliefs they hold with the leader. Leadership through ideas. Examples? “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” -John C. Maxwell

9 How do Officers Lead? Attitude: “A settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person's behavior.” Attitudes are contagious Other Thoughts? Be the kind of person YOU would want follow Don’t be a loner! Experience is knowledge, knowledge is power “The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for themselves.” -Ray Kroc
