17 Medicare Part B Status of 2003 Recipients
Just because you ask people about health insurance status doesn’t mean they are going to tell you. And conversely providers are not always going to ask about or be strict about it either. It is considered a public service not a money making venture. Based on 11,516 queried records from 2003 Philadelphia Flu Campaign

18 2003 Influenza Vaccinations: Persons With Other Insurance
Other insurance, smother insurance, nobody cares Based on 11,516 queried records from 2003 Philadelphia Flu Campaign

19 2002 Medicare Reimbursements
Persons 65 and over with Medicare Part B $ 9, 306 reimbursed to the PDPH Prior to the 2002 season PDPH never billed nor applied for mass vaccinator status with roster billing. We hope the 2003 season will provide us with a better return secondary to a more concerted effort at training of providers.

24 Received Pneumoccocal Vaccine Previously All Ages 2002 2003
We are always interested to look at pneu uptake. Remember our criteria for immunization is 50 years of age and up or under 50 years of age with a chronic illness. People in 2003 were much less inclined to bother to answer the question.

25 Summary Philadelphia has improved influenza coverage rates in minority as well as white populations More vaccinees heard about the flu program from newspaper ads than from any other media Recommend focused interventions with a multicultural provider base. Plan influenza programs early, beginning in the late Spring.

26 Acknowledgments Many thanks to the hundreds of volunteers throughout the Philadelphia Health Care Community who are the heart and soul of the community flu program.
