Nursing pay Most nursing staff are underpaid and many feel undervalued. Pay isn’t everything but it helps. It’s not just about the money ££, your terms and conditions matter too.

Knowledge is power Do you know what your contract says about your pay, terms and conditions? Does your job description accurately reflect what you do? Do you know how your pay compares to others?

Know your value Don’t minimise the impact your role and you have on your patients. Realise your potential. Delegate things you don’t need to do so you can do the things your patients need you to do. Be your best advocate Get help!

GPs are private employers so don’t pay AfC, however National pay is a benchmark you can refer to in negotiating your own pay, terms and conditions Austerity is a choice that we should challenge. Joint union ask is inflation plus lump sum
