2 Oneself This is Bhajan’s earlier work using her body in a self-portrait. The shape of the circular serpent is unending and organic symbolising our relationship with the natural world. The painting is divided into two parts, the serpent in the outside world and the body in the internal world, perhaps the womb.

3 Embroidery from Rajasthan
This is an embroidered artwork, inspired by women in the home.

4 Untitled This early self-portrait uses the imagery of the embroidered motifs and parts of the body. It uses shapes in a symbolic way and dual imagery with the artist looking out as well as reflecting on herself.

5 Confrontation This is acrylic on canvas using the body with pattern.

6 The Dialogue This uses protraiture and pattern. Acrylic on paper and canvas.

7 “Chipko” project This design was made with the Academy of Indian dance students and Richmond College students AKADEMI for the floor of their dance studio. It was inspired by the Chipko trees of India and represents the gifts that trees give us.

8 Open Space This shows repetition and pattern inspired by shapes in the natural world.

9 ‘She sowed the seeds’ This is inspired by embroidery and shows form, shape and the layering of colour. Monoprint on paper Cartwright Hall, Bradford

10 My mothers embroidery This phulkari embroidery formed a large artwork showcasing colour, shape and pattern.

11 Floating text series This is part of a series using hand cut paper stencils.

12 Peepul Centre,  Leicester, 2005
This floor design was inspired by the name of the project ‘Peepul’, a well known Indian tree symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment. Dispersing from the middle, a cluster of abstracted symbolic leaves float as seedlings to different parts of the building covering over 200 square metres. 13 Drayton Road, Abingdon 2010 Inspired by the River Ock which runs nearby, the design and text for this work was arrived at with children from Unicorn School, Abingdon. Art work commissioned by Cranbourne Homes as part of new housing Scheme now belonging to SOHA (South Oxfordshire Housing Association), with Vale of White Horse District Council.

14 St Paul’s Way, London, 2012 Ten Bespoke designed granite bollards with local women and students from St Paul’s Way Trust School. These shapes was inspired by the natural world. Fabricators: Pomery Natural Stone Installation: JB Rineys & Co Ltd Commissioned by Tower Hamlets Council Highways Team, as part of St Paul’s Way Transformation project, with Bow Arts.

15 St Paul’s Way London 2012 Words in Stone Ten sentences selected from two hundred and twenty put forward by members of the community. This uses the idea of script in design. Fabrication: Pomery Natural Stone Installation: J B Rineys & Co Ltd
