1 All roads lead to FoxO Cell Metabolism

2 Figure 1 Jnk coordinates stress response and metabolic signaling via FoxO Upon stress-induced activation, Jnk phosphorylates several substrates that affect insulin signaling. The red hexagons indicate serine phosphorylation sites. Prominent among them are the Irs proteins, Akt, and the insulin receptor. The addition of FoxO to the list of Jnk substrates provides a mechanism tying together metabolism and stress response. However, the extent to which FoxO1 participates in metabolic control by Jnk remains to be addressed. Cell Metabolism 2005 1, DOI: ( /j.cmet ) Copyright © 2005 Elsevier Inc. Terms and Conditions
