No Google Drive assignments will be accepted. PDF or Word file only.

4. College Freshmen You are being considered college freshmen
Most of you have been excepted to college
You need to understand your impending reality
College has: No late work, No explanations of due dates (read your syllabus) and professors have specific office hours.

5. College Freshmen II Turn in assignments on time
Follow professor’s instructions
Be proactive not reactive
Except the consequences of choices and actions

6. Proactive not reactive
Proactive Students:
Ask questions and get help beforehand
Seek help when something is confusing
Use all academic resources available
Keep a calendar/schedule
Review assignments/readings
Prioritize

7. Turn in assignments on time
Early is on time, on time is late & late is unacceptable
When you walk in the only thing you should be doing is turning your work in.
If you have a fieldtrip scheduled assignments need to be turned in before you leave.
If you handle it early, you don’t have to worry about any life complications that arise, because it’s done.

8. Late Work Policy Acceptable excuses for late homework:
Absent from school when the assignment was given. Note: If you’re absent when it is due you need to turn it in the day you return (NOT the next time you have my class), If you’re late you need to turn it in as soon as you get to campus.
Severe Illness
Death or severe injury/ illness of family member
Prior approval from teacher

Seek the information you need
Prioritize your work
Be a good teammate: with colleagues and instructors

11. Grading Rubrics will be given before and after writing assignments
Grades will be given (no edits or revisions)
Papers falling below 70% will be given mandatory tutorials
Class lessons will be over common mistakes
Students with lingering questions/ concerns need to request a teacher conference (students can request through signup genius)
Written works need to be revised and edited according to teacher’s instruction for final portfolio grade. Any papers submitted without applying feedback will receive a failing score.

12. Tutorials and Conferences
Students coming to tutorials need to come prepared (need to have something ready to work on)
Tutorials start on time and are focused.
Group practice for struggling students require a parent signature to receive tutorial points to help average
Teacher/Writer Conferences:
Students must bring TWO copies of their paper ready to conference
Student must have specific questions ready to ask / selections ready to discuss
Student must apply feedback for additional average points and for End of semester(s) Portfolio grades

13. The Good News
If you can do this for ALL of your courses you’re ready for pretty much anything college will throw at you.
Not to mention you’ll pass my class on your own cognition which is the ONLY way to pass.
