Ephesians 4:25-5:2 – “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the Holy Spirit

• This can refer to foul language or distasteful words
• Replace them with words of kindness and edification

• Avoid Wrath
• Avoid Anger
• Avoid “Clamor”
• Avoid “Evil Speaking”
Colossians 4:6 – “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”

₋ v.29 – "but that which is good to the use of edifying that it may minister grace unto the hearers."
1. Learn to attack the problem, not the person
Ephesians 6:4 – "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

1. Learn to attack the problem, not the person
2. Learn to fix the problem and not to blame others
James 1:19 – "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath."
• "Swift to hear" – Means be a good listener

1. Learn to attack the problem, not the person
2. Learn to fix the problem and not to blame others
3. Learn to keep it private, not public
4. Learn that when you bring it up, pray it up

• We have the presence of the Holy Spirit in our families

o Brings to our homes

John 14:27 – "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you."
