God asked Abram to leave Ur and follow Him. God gave Abram many promises and changed his name to Abraham. These promises are called the Abrahamic Covenant.

Abraham showed that he believed in God by doing what God said. He moved his family to Canaan.

5 Abraham and His Sons Because of God’s promise to Abraham the nation of Israel emerged. Not all of Abraham’s sons received God’s promise. God chose Isaac. And From Isaac, Jacob was chosen.
