1 Review for Final What you need to know

2 Camera Settings

3 Aperture Aperture is ‘the opening in the lens.’
When you hit the shutter release button of your camera a hole opens up that allows your cameras image sensor to catch a glimpse of the scene you’re wanting to capture. The aperture that you set impacts the size of that hole. The larger the hole the more light that gets in – the smaller the hole the less light. Aperture is measured in ‘f-stops’. Aperture

4 What size aperture is this?
F1.2 that leaves the guitar in focus but everything else blurred

5 Is the length of time a camera shutter is open to expose light into the camera sensor.
If the shutter speed is fast, it can help to freeze action completely. If the shutter speed is slow, it can create an effect called “motion blur”, where moving objects appear blurred along the direction of the motion. Shutter Speed

6 What type of Shutter Speed are these?
SLOW SHUTTER SPEED FAST SHUTTER SPEED What type of Shutter Speed are these?

7 ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor
ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor. The lower the number the less sensitive your camera is to light and the finer the grain. The higher the ISO you choose the noisier shots you will get. ISO

8 Low ISO High ISO 800 High or low ISO?

9 Visual Analysis What is it?

10 Describe the photograph as though you are talking to a friend on the phone and you want them to “see” what you see: colors, textures, how things overlap, what is emphasized, barely visible, etc. Don’t read any meaning into what you see – not yet! Describe

11 Analyze the relationship among the things that shown in the image
Analyze the relationship among the things that shown in the image. Simply put, how did you get the viewer (me) to look at everything in the picture plane? Analyze what you see using the ELEMENTS OF ART and PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN. Refer to at least 2 elements and 2 principles and explain how they are used. Analyze

12 INTERPRET the meaning your photograph as though you are an art critic piecing together the visual elements like clues. Even if you did not start out with a meaning, what meaning did you end up with? Back up your statements by referring to specific images in the photograph. Interpret

13 JUDGE the overall aesthetic appeal of the image
JUDGE the overall aesthetic appeal of the image. Do you like it or hate & why? How could you change it to make it better? Judge
