1 The Nicene Creed I believe in…

2 I believe in God the Father
I believe in one God I believe He is the Father almighty. I believe He created both heaven and earth. I believe He created all things visible and invisible. I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. There is only one God… He is the person of God which we call Father. He is almighty, therefore all powerful. God did not create only the earth and all things in the universe; He also created heaven. He created everything whether visible or invisible.

3 I believe in Jesus Christ
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ. I believe He is the Only Begotten Son of God. I believe He was born of the Father before all ages. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. There is only one Christ or one Messiah. The person of God we call Jesus is the begotten Son of God. Begotten marks Jesus as uniquely God's Son, sharing the same divine nature as God; as opposed to believers who are God's sons and daughters by adoption. Begotten is a best interpretation but much is lost in translation. Saying Jesus is born of the Father implies a created being, but in reality it means a being unique in the Father’s divine nature as God.

4 I believe in Jesus Christ
I believe Jesus is God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God. I believe He was begotten not made I believe He is consubstantial with the Father. I believe He created all things with the Father. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. Jesus is consubstantial with the Father. He is of the same divine substance and nature as the Father. He is God from God; inheriting God’s nature. He is light from light. Too brilliant for mortal man to look at. He shares all things with the Father.

5 I believe in Jesus Christ
I believe Jesus did what he did for our salvation. I believe He came down from heaven. I believe through the power of the Holy Spirit He was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. Jesus came for our salvation: Read John 3:16-17 He was sent from heaven by God. His incarnation (becoming flesh and bone) was fulfilled by the power of the Holy Spirit. He was conceived and born to The Blessed Virgin Mary and God became man. Read Luke 1:26-38.

6 I believe in Jesus Christ
I believe Jesus was crucified under Pontius Pilate. I believe He suffered death. I believe He was buried. I believe He rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. Jesus was condemned for crimes he did not commit. He was captured by his own followers and turned over to the Roman governor for crucifixion. He was condemned by the Jews not by Rome. Pilate crucified Him to avoid a riot. Jesus experienced our mortality through a painful death on the cross. Jesus was buried in a tomb sealed with a large stone. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead. Luke 24:46 - And he said to them, “Thus it is written that the Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day … “ CCC 639 The mystery of Christ's resurrection is a real event, with events [manifestations] that were historically verified, as the New Testament tells us [bears witness]. In about A.D. 56 St. Paul could already write to the Corinthians: "I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, and that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter [Cephas], then to the Twelve. . ." …

7 I believe in Jesus Christ
I believe Jesus ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. I believe He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. I believe his kingdom will have no end. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. Jesus returned to the Father once he made clear that he would leave the Holy Spirit to the task of guiding the believers. Jesus will come again and when he does, He will judge all men and women from all times and the righteous will receive their reward and the unjust will receive their punishment. From there, Jesus will return to heaven which is His kingdom. He will reign there forever.

8 I believe in the Holy Spirit
I believe the Holy Spirit is the Lord, the giver of life. I believe He proceeds from the Father and the Son. I believe He is adored and glorified with the Father and the Son. I believe He has spoken through the prophets. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. The Holy Spirit is the true giver of life. Just as he created the incarnation of Jesus within Mary’s womb, so he is involved in creating our spirit in our mothers womb at the moment of our conception. Through the power of the Holy Spirit we are also created fully human in that instant and not when we are actually born. Just as the Son shares in the Father’s divinity, so does the Holy Spirit shares that divinity as He proceeds from both the Father and the Son. The heavenly hosts adore and glorify the Holy Spirit in the same way they adore and glorify the Father and the son. We should do the same. The Holy Spirit provided the knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration to the early prophets as well as the authors of all our Holy Scriptures.

9 I believe in the Church I believe the Church is one.
I believe the Church is holy. I believe the Church is catholic. I believe the Church is apostolic. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. The Church is one church for all under one God. The Church was founded by Jesus and has been guided by the Holy Spirit. As a result the Church is Holy. By catholic (lower case ‘c’) means the Church is universal or for all people. The Church leaders are directly connected to the original apostles through ‘Apostolic Succession’. We strive to follow their teachings and examples.

10 I believe … I believe in confessing one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I believe I can look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. The baptism for the forgiveness of sins was given to us by Jesus himself. Read Matthew 28:19-20 Life everlasting is the best news in the good news (Gospel). Therefore I do look forward to spending eternity in God’s presence. AMEN! – This is our confirming that what we have processed in the truth in our hearts. Amen!
