This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham:
2 Abraham was the father of Isaac,
Isaac the father of Jacob,
Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,
3 Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar,
Perez the father of Hezron,
Hezron the father of Ram,

Amminadab the father of Nahshon,
Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5 Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab,
Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth,
Obed the father of Jesse,
6 and Jesse the father of King David.
David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,

16 and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.
17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.

8. Before the World was Made…
1 Peter 1: “18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.”

Genesis 22: 16 – “… and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,”
Genesis 22: 18 – “… and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”
2 Samuel 7: 16 – “16 Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’”

12. Abraham and David
Isaiah 9:7 – “… He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom,”
Luke 1:32-33 – “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
Acts 2:30 – “But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.”
Revelations 3:21 – “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne,just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.”
