2 CCSSE Overview Community College Survey of Student Engagement
Developed in 2001 by the Community College Leadership Program at the University of Texas at Austin. “Provides information on student engagement, a key indicator of learning and, therefore, of the quality of community colleges.” Nationally normed. The 2014 CCSSE Cohort (participating colleges from through 2014) includes 684 institutions from 48 states. North is one of 168 classified as medium (4,500-7,999). 37 standard questions; 5 CCSSE focus questions; 15 optional local questions CCSSE Benchmarks are groups of conceptually related items that address key areas of student engagement. CCSSE’s five benchmarks denote areas that educational research has shown to be important in quality educational practice.

3 CCSSE Surveys Not ALL CCSSE questions
Benchmarks, and especially two benchmarks on which North’s students have consistently registered lower scores than the CCSSE cohort. That is, results we may want to address. Other selected CCSSE questions that may help us understand CCSSE Comparisons Some for three years: 2008, 2011, 2014 Some for two years: 2011, 2014 Some for 2014 only: North vs. CCSSE Cohort Supplemental data from Spring 2014 Survey of Enrolled Students.
