2 RELANG IMPACT 25th -27th April 2016 a brief reminder
CONTEXT – The seminar was held within the process of revising the lower secondary curriculum, prior to the development of new syllabi. SEMINAR IMPACT ON THE WORK OF THE EXPERTS INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS Familiarisation of the stakeholders with the CEFR, its model of language use and its descriptors following the procedures as set out in the workshop. The alignment of the new curricula to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) in terms of: learning outcomes according to the CEFR; relating competence descriptors to the CEFR descriptors; ensuring competence progression according to the CEFR specifications and provisions; designing valid competence assessment.

3 ACTUAL CONTEXT NEW CHALLENGES
Following the lower secondary syllabi reconstruction, REVISING NATIONAL TESTS becomes imperiously necessary. ENVISAGED NATIONAL TESTS: the test of admission to the 5th grade classes which offer foreign language study in the intensive regime; the test of admission to the 9th grade-bilingual classes; the baccalaureate (considering that a new upper secondary curriculum structured on competence practice will be finalized soon).

4 Assessment practice new expectations
THE FORTHCOMING SEMINAR is expected: to set the link between curriculum and its assessment; to make the target group familiar with the CEFR descriptors in a close connection to curriculum – assessment relationship; to assist the target group in practising a more precise assessment; to offer patterns of assessing all four linguistic competences in a related manner; to support the target group in designing accurately calibrated items/tests; to facilitate the practice of item writing/test production.

5 THE NEW RELANG SEMINAR OBJECTIVES AIMED AT
Following the NEW RELANG SEMINAR, the participants should: relate the CEFR levels of the foreign language syllabi to the CEFR descriptors in the assessment process; use the CEFR descriptors in the process of writing items and producing full tests (encompassing all four competences); write/produce items/tests specific to each of the four competences according to each linguistic level; define the assessment objectives of the future high school foreign language syllabi that are to be revised in 2019 – 2020; revise the actual format of the foreign language national exams ( admission tests and baccalaureate) according to the CEFR descriptors specific to each linguistic level.
