REVELATION Lesson 5 for May 2, 2009

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets…” (Hebrews 1:1)

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.” (Psalm 19:1)
CREATION

“The things of nature upon which we look today give us but a faint conception of Eden’s beauty and glory. Yet much that is beautiful remains. Nature testifies that One infinite in power, great in goodness, mercy, and love, created the earth and filled it with life and gladness. Even in their blighted state all things reveal the handiwork of the great Master Artist.” Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, cp. 42, p. 256)

“I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.” (Psalm 16:7, NIV)
CONSCIENCE

“Take your conscience to the Word of God, and see if your life and character are in accordance with the standard of righteousness which God has there revealed. You can then determine whether or not you have an intelligent faith, and what manner of conscience is yours. The conscience of man cannot be trusted unless it is under the influence of divine grace. It is not enough for a man to think himself safe in following the dictates of his conscience… The question to be settled is, Is the conscience in harmony with the Word of God? If not, it cannot safely be followed, for it will deceive. The conscience must be enlightened by God. Time must be given to a study of the Scriptures and to prayer. Thus the mind will be stablished, strengthened, and settled.” Ellen G. White, Our High Calling, May 17

“Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” (2 Chronicles 20:20, NIV) THE PROPHETS

“The voice of God was heard by the prophets whom He had appointed to a special work and to bear a special message. He sent them to repeat the same words over and over again. He had a message prepared for them that was not after the ways and will of men, and this He put in their mouths and had them proclaim. He assured them the Holy Spirit would give them language and utterance. He who knew the heart would give them words with which to reach the people.” Ellen G. White, Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers, cp. 15, p. 404

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16) THE BIBLE

“In seeking to make reforms in these last days, we are to walk in all the light God has given. None need wait until called to some distant field in order to being this work. A home reading circle can be formed, that will give simple lessons in the principles of health reform. Let us educate to discard the reading of fictitious works. Bring into the home that class of literature that will give true knowledge to young and old. Thus all will be benefited. Our time should not be spent in searching for literature that is above the comprehension of the average mind. The Word of God is the most profitable book to read.” Ellen G. White, Lt 288, 1908

“…has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.” (Hebrews 1:2)

“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born[a] of a woman, born under the law.” (Galatians 4:4)

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

“As a personal being, God has revealed Himself in His Son
“As a personal being, God has revealed Himself in His Son. Jesus, the outshining of the Father’s glory, “and the express image of his person” (Hebrews 1:3), was on earth found in fashion as a man. As a personal Saviour He came to the world. As a personal Saviour He ascended on high. As a personal Saviour He intercedes in the heavenly courts. Before the throne of God in our behalf ministers “One like unto the Son of man.” Revelation 1:13. Christ, the Light of the world, veiled the dazzling splendor of His divinity and came to live as a man among men, that they might, without being consumed, become acquainted with their Creator.... Christ came to teach human beings what God desires them to know.” Ellen G. White, Sons and Daughters of God, January 15

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. John 5:39
